DAN LIEB- LOCAL SHIP WRECKS

DAN LIEB WHO IS PRESIDENT OF THE NJ HISTORICAL DIVERS ASSOCIATION PRESENTED FINDING SHIP WRECKS OFF THE NJ COAST WHERE HE AND OTHERS IN THE ORGANIZATION HAVE IDENTIFIED MANY PAST WRECKS.  FROM 1850 TO 1890 THERE WERE MANY SHIP WRECKS OFF OUR LOCAL COASTLINE DUE TO STORMS AND HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS INCLUDING SAND BARS.  IN TOTAL THERE ARE 4000 TO 7200 SHIP WRECKS OFF OUR LOCAL COAST OF WHICH 2000 TO 2500 VESSELS HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED.
