The Spring Lake-Brielle Rotary Club provided $200 to support the Holly Club of Sea Girt with its project to restore the azaleas along the rim of Crescent Park.
Volunteers from both clubs, including Rotary's Bill Rutka, Gloria Szynal, and Gloria's husband, Eugene, gathered on April 9 to apply fertilizer to help bring the azaleas back to their original brilliance. The azaleas were originally planted as a memorial to the first Sea Girt resident who died in the Viet Nam War.
